The Neoplatonic philosopher Proclus tells us that the Chaldaeans believed that in addition to our “intramundane” visible sun, there is a “transmundane” sun that serves as a pattern to our sun.
This notion is very interesting and confirms the idea that in paganism there is a god “behind” the sun who is worshiped under the aegis of the sun.
The notion of a second sun also connects to the idea of a link between hell and the sun.
Does anyone know of a link between the sun and hell in the Church’s tradition?
If so, please leave some intel in the comments.
